Antique Colt New Line “Big Colt”

This is an Antique Colt New Line chambered in .41 rimfire. The Colt New Lines were offered in calibers ranging from .22 to .41 with the .41’s being referred to as the “Big Colt”.  This has a 2-1/4”barrel with a 5 shot fluted cylinder. This is a numbers matching gun with with frame, barrel, cylinder and grips all showing matching numbers. This retains 80%+ original finish with fire blue still being found on the hammer, trigger, cylinder pin and screws. The pearl grips are in excellent condition with no cracks or chipping. Mechanically in very fine condition with perfect timing and lockup.  There were approximately 7000 of the Big Colts produced from 1874 to 1879 with this one showing a 3 digit serial number. These revolvers were often carried as a reliable back up by many Wild West outlaws and lawmen. This item would make a wonderful addition to any collection and will definitely be an item that will strike up conversation.
